China’s most beloved chili sauce has found its way onto American shelves, but has has run into a bit of trouble making a name for itself.  Laoganma has called for a rebrand to make it recognizable and less intimidating for its American consumers.







Laoganma’s old jars contained an overload of information, since consumers
in China often look at the details of a product to determine its quality. The jars’ packaging 
needed much more breathing room in its design to be digestible for their American consumers.
 








Paper cutting and stop-motion animation using basic shapes and layering was 
used to create Laoganma’s new visual identity in to convey the simplicity of the chili sauce.
